Central Alabama TV Exclusive: (Left) Valorie Lawson at The Big Switch Phone Bank on April 8th. You can see her whole stomach instead of some of it when she's sitting at the news set. (Right) Valorie and her new born 6-pound baby girl.
Valorie Lawson, the anchor of WSFA 12 News at 6 & 10, has had her second child. This one, also a girl and yet to be named, came a little early. Valorie gave birth to her last night. She anchored both of her newscasts last night. Since the baby came early, Valorie did not get the opportunity to tell the viewers that that was her final broadcast until she comes back from maternity leave (probably in late July or early August). Bob Howell, alongside Rich Thomas and Jeff Shearer, announced the news on WSFA 12 News at 6. I wanted to post a while ago on if she was pregnant, but I knew it would be better to wait until it was confirmed. I do not think that WSFA 12 News will be having one of their anchors or reporters to fill-in for Valorie while she's out; Bob Howell will probably go solo. Of course, an anchor or reporter will fill in if he's off though.
